SPM results

Congratulations to those who scored good results yesterday, Alhamdulillah.

..and those who didn't achieve the target, don't worry too much, insyaAllah you'll be successful in the future provided that you try harder and do not let this results drag you down.

Received some feedback from the "sisters" in school, I was told that they didn't perform well last year, so I guess the HM and teachers are going to do a postmortem, and try their very best in improving the methods to achieve better results..

(Atikah, Hajar and Solehah ~ took them out and for lunch before their SPM last year - to release their tension :-) - they didn't do badly, all the best for their future!)

but as a friend said..doesn't matter how many As people score, its more important to become good person (she added..get good results but become a bully, buat apa?) true true..

From the colloquium that I attended in PD (read here) two years ago, I still keep in touch with some students that I met, and one of them is Farahin from Science School in Lahad Datu Sabah.

On the 19th she smsed me to say she was scared of the outcome, and yesterday around 2pm she texted me her results..Alhamdulillah she got 7As and 2Bs..so glad for her...and I was touched when she said..."tq 4 always supporting me.." ~ but I didn't do much since I last met her  :-).

The girl Farahin, second from right, who sounded like she's in tears when I called her yesterday ; the boy in the red blazer, Azrin got some As as well, said "amiin" when I congratulated and prayed he'd do better in future :-)

Due to a short same program last year in Melaka, we didn't manage to get to know the kids, but they are taking their SPM this year, wishing them all the best!

Was thinking this morning that if I were to take SPM this year, I'm fairly confident that I could do well in Malay and English language, Pendidikan Islam, Maths, Accounting {~ but I'd need to study from now :-) ]

may be on History and Geography subjects would be a bit of a struggle;

but on the science subjects - Chemistry, Biology and Physics, I'd need yearsss...

what can you expect from someone in accounting department after all?..hehehe..

but before someone dares me to do it, better say that of course I cannot find the time to study for SPM with my workload..haha..

Final of programme "Adik-adikku" - season 2

Watched the final of the first season, and I was impressed by the confidence shown by the kids, Alhamdulillah, was glad to see such programmes on TV.

For the second season, even though I don't follow from the beginning, I managed to catch some "diaries" this past few days, I enjoyed watching previous finalists hosting it, so cute. :-) .

I'm looking forward to watch the final tonight, all the best to 7 of them. But as one "murabbi" said..winning is not the main agenda, its what to become of these kids in the future that's more important.

The final will be shown "live" on TV1 (here)

or can be watched online (here)

Be prepared

When Amal called me this morning asking if I wanted to join the lunch meeting with some alumni committees, I said ok..and that "luckily I'm prepared, i.e I'm wearing a nicer kurung dress (baju kurung) "..hehe..

Be prepared always?

From Wiki ~ the Scout's Motto of BE PREPARED means you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your DUTY.

* Be Prepared in Mind by having disciplined yourself to be obedient to every order, and also by having thought out beforehand any accident or situation that might occur, so that you know the right thing to do at the right moment, and are willing to do it.

* Be Prepared in Body by making yourself strong and active and able to do the right thing at the right moment, and do it.

(I used to dream of being a girl guide as I loved the uniform..hehe..but in secondary school I ended up being a band member..still okay b'cos the uniform was quite nice, with high boots and all)

and my hair tied up like this :

Seeing the aftermath of the tsunami in Japan, reading the survivors' tales brought tears to my eyes and I'm sure to many..our hearts go to them in their time of sadness.

It also brought to mind that I have been given second or more chances to be prepared for the Hereafter, with true faith (iman) and good deeds, as what The Prophet (s.a.w) has advised us and taught us that we must take advantage of our life before death comes.

"Everyone shall taste death.
And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full.
And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise,
he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception."
(al-'Imraan, 185)

Must do my best  to be among those who will have total beliefs, removing any doubts, repenting from evil deeds and putting the Hereafter first in my heart.

I pray that we'll be among those
who will be guided to the straight path
and meet good ending in this life,
...amiin.

Passion fruit

Yesterday when a friend of mine said she'd give me some "buah markisa"..I thought, eh?..Wasn't sure what it was, so I just said ok, tq.

When I got it, was told that I've had the "markisa" juice before...mmm..

"Checking" the fruit at home...

(Had that with evaporated milk ~ as advised if it "taste sour",
n I added banana and kiwi fruit, just in case..hehe).

mmm..I still wasn't sure what it was until I checked online...
laaaa...its passion fruit rupanya..hehehehe...

No wonder my officemate said I'd drunk the juice before, she's used to see me drink processed juices during lunchtime.
[thou now I try to curb my habit ~ less processed juices and less cold drinks..:) ]

Okay, the results of my search online on this (as usual I love to find the benefits of what goes into me).. :-)

****************

There are two types of passion fruits, one yellow coloured and the other purple coloured. Both these types taste alike and contain a pulp which looks like jelly, but tastes sour.

Passion fruit is rich in carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins such as A, B and C and minerals such as iron, calcium and water.

Health Benefits:

* Passion fruit juice is an excellent digestive stimulant and helps in the treatment of other gastric ailments.

* Passion fruit seeds contain high amount of fiber that the body needs to cleanse the colon, improve digestion, and help prevent heart attacks and strokes.

* Passion fruit is high in vitamin A which helps the body to remove free radicals that cause skin and tissue damage, and it also helps to improve our vision.

* It is also rich in Vitamin C which helps to repair tissue, helps prevent heart disease and cancer and helps our bones.

* There is also a compound in passion fruit that is believed to block histamine, reduce allergy and inflammation; passion fruit therefore has the health benefit of reducing the symptoms of asthma.

* The antioxidants found in passion fruit have been found to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

Tsunami in Japan

Breaking news : Taken from news.yahoo.com

TOKYO – A powerful tsunami spawned by the largest earthquake in Japan's recorded history slammed the eastern coast Friday, sweeping away boats, cars, homes and people as widespread fires burned out of control. Authorities said at least 32 people were killed.

The magnitude 8.9 offshore quake was followed by at least 19 aftershocks, most of them of more than magnitude 6.0. Dozens of cities and villages along a 1,300-mile (2,100-kilometer) stretch of coastline were shaken by violent tremors that reached as far away as Tokyo, hundreds of miles (kilometers) from the epicenter.

My sister in Terengganu called to say that they have been advised to stay away from coastal area, she said they were at Primula Hotel near Pantai Batu Burok (Batu Burok Beach) this afternoon and could see that the sea's condition wasn't good.. prayers for the safety of my family, friends and all.

and I also pray for my brother in Sabah as well, thou he said that he is in the higher ground and in the middle of the state, but I heard certain areas are to be on alert.

Condolences to the people of Japan, praying for them (I hope Nana and her family are well) and the neighbouring countries.

and praying for my beloved country...

"May we always be protected from any disasters...amiin.."

Muar Noodle Bandung

Cooked Muar "Bandung" noodle the other day using the paste that I bought during the trip to Johor ~ added some meat, prawns and eggs.

Brought some to the office as I'd promised an office mate that I'd make for her, so some of us in the office had a rather heavy brunch that day :-)

mmmm...I don't have any more of that yummy paste (unless friends in Johor can get me some supplies..hehe).

I don't have the recipe as well but found one at the AFC channel - from Best Wan's show.

Reading through the long recipe, I think I'd buy the ready made paste or go to any restaurants :-)
