Virtues of Fasting

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of God (pbuh), saying:

"Allah said 'Every action of the son of Adam is for him except fasting, for that is solely for Me. I give the reward for it. The fast is a shield."

"If one is fasting, he should not use foul language, raise his voice, or behave foolishly. If someone reviles him or fights with him, he should say, 'I am fasting,' twice."

"By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the [bad] breath of the one who is fasting is better in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection than the smell of musk."

"The one who is fasting is happy at two times: when he breaks his fast he is happy with it, and when he meets his Lord he will be happy that he has fasted."

One of the specials..

*****************

To all my muslim friends/readers...lets welcome the month of Rajab.

The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) has said, "Rajab is the month for seeking forgiveness, so seek forgiveness from Allah (swt)".

Therefore, when the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam sighted the moon of Rajab, he used to make du'a:

"O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Sha'ban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadan (i.e. prolong our life up to Ramadan, so that we may benefit from its merits and blessings)."

12 Rabi'ul Awal

"Sesungguhnya orang yang paling utama menerima syafa'atku nanti di hari kiamat ialah yang paling banyak membaca selawat kepadaku"

"The person who asks blessings upon me abundantly, will be nearest to me on the Day of Judgment."

(Surah AL-Ahzab(33) : ayat 56)

"Verily, Allah and His angels bless the Prophet . O you who believe, ask (Allah) to bless him and grant him abundant peace." (33:56)
