Trying to keep up :-)

hahaha...its already the 20th day in January 2014 and this is only my second post!

Ok, that's one resolution that I'm trying to keep. Another one is to cut down on my travelling..guess I overdid last year that it took toll on my health.

Also I don't want my mum and family worry about me being away too much (unless the travelling is to go back to my hometown...hehe..)

But somehow this month alone I was tempted with offers to join 3 trips to 3 different locations!

1 ~ Jakarta-Bandung-Solo-Jogja in Indonesia

2 - Universal Studio in Singapore

3 - Mumbai, India.

wow...how I wish...hahaha..

So to avoid the temptations, I booked a last minute ticket to my hometown for a break last week, and "cure" my itchy travel feet...hehehe...

Sharing some photos taken last week :

By the way, its "Visit Terengganu" this year.

We seldom go out to eat as mum is not really into going out for meals, but when she said she wanted to go for hi-tea at this place, we made the effort to fulfill it.

This place @ Hotel Primula is the only hotel that she's comfortable with.

Some of the food that I managed to capture...my nephew took more   :-)

Ok that's the update on eating and food..hehe...

***************

We planned to hire some bikes and ride at Taman Tamadun Islam park near our home but the day (Tuesday) that we went, the park was closed (its open to public from Wednesday to Monday only from 9am to 6pm).

So that day to went for a walk instead ~ to panoramic hill near the city centre. It was our first time there and we had a nice walk...we should go again.

Another evening I played volleyball with my nieces....was quite surprised that they could play.

The next photos were taken whilst passing through the famous beach area in K.Terengganu, Pantai Batu Burok.

But yesterday evening I was already back in K.L. The following view was taken on ERL (train express) from KLIA to KL Sentral.

mmmm...back at work today.

Have a productive week everyone!

Taking a few days off for a bit of TLC, bit of fun and spent time this afternoon cooking...another of my favourite "de-stress" activity.

Cooked this "Laksa Johor" that mum had second helpings both during lunch and dinner just now...and I feel good...hehehe..

On the 2nd, we brought mum for check-up at the specialist hospital where she had a blood test, ECG etc that day. When my sisters took her back to the hospital yesterday, the results were fairly good..Alhamdulillah.

Busybee : Home and Away

There wasn't any mystery really in my making the short break.

Before the end of May I'd already decided to slow down on writing as we'd already entered the month of Rajaab, with months of Syaaban and Ramadhan coming soon.

Actually I was quite surprised that I was able to do daily entries for the past four months when I had first intended to test myself for only a month.....huh..quite a feat.....though I do admit that once in every few days it was quite difficult to come out with ideas....hehe..

Anyway.....after the 31st May entry, I was thinking of taking one or two days break but instead I lost the mood to write....,

Why?

At the office on morning of 1st June I got the call that mum wasn't feeling well. Really thankful that it was easy for me to request from my boss for immediate leave..and took the noon flight home.

The next few days were spent in my hometown with my mum and family., but on Monday I came back to KL, still worrying about mum and at the same time was not feeling well too.

But by now Alhamdulillah mum is much better than that Friday, and I am too (though the exercises for the coming run make my body ache..haha..)

******************

So no mystery or "forced to" reasons for not writing.......I was around but I was just tired   (i.e between then and now was not on holiday).......hehehe

But thank you all for the kind words.

So, have pleasant days ahead and till the next time then!

My albums

[...for the photos, not of the singing or music kind, I can't sing..hehehe.]

From Mr. Google

My mother has been saying few times that she wants to see the photos that we'd taken. For many years now we haven't bothered to send them for printing, rather we keep the copies in the computer/hard disk, CDs, pen drives etc.

Previous weekend whilst at "kampung", I took out some old albums from the store room. Had a good chuckled now and then seeing all the old photos of our family..and I showed them to my mum.

From Mr. Google

Seeing how happy she was in looking through some albums, I promised myself that I would try to print some ~ nowadays there are lots to choose from due to my current craze...haha. Well... at least I'd print the photos that involved the family especially during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

Anyway..since I came back I've done some printing myself..starting with the photos of my recent trip.

Had a good laugh reminiscing while printing those..so far have printed about 120 photos..haha..and have yet to finish as I'm still waiting for some other photos that my friends have before I can arrange them in the album.

Doing this current project reminds me of another set of photos that I have yet to slot into the album. The trip was in 2007, printed a year later but forgot to do anything further..haha..I'm sure my sister who went with me and some other friends of ours would like to see it too.

I'm relieved..

My phone rang yesterday morning whilst at work and I saw mum's number. When answered, I heard her hoarse voice. She told me that she'd fever then and had not been feeling well for the past couple of days.

My first thought was to take leave to go home. Asked her if she needed me to do so but she said she just wanted to tell me, but I didn't need to come home.

Called my sister immediately  and she said the same, for me to stay in KL..but still, I was worried, checked for available ticket just in case they said ok.

Followed up with her status few times since then and again early this morning when she sounded a little bit better..but I was still contemplating about going back home for few days and at the office checked again for a ticket to go home.

But then around 2.50pm today, received a call and I heard a "chirpy" sound, "Assalamualaikum!"..and her laugh.....she said she's much better now after much needed sleep and rest.

"Alhamdulillah"...and my eyes were slightly watery...hehe..

"No, you don't need to come home even thou I'd love to have you here", she said when I told her my plan.

This evening's phone call also confirmed that she's on her way to recovery. :-)

I know I'm a worrier..much more since what had happened to our family member mid-last year, it was a tough time for me and the rest of the family..now I could easily feel sad and wistful especially when any of my close family fall sick.

Okayyy..., so I'm staying here for the weekend but looking forward to my next scheduled trip home next month.

Praying for my mother's good health and may she be blessed always..amiin.

"LOVE YOU" mak.

From your daughter,

:-)

Sentimental values...

I was upset and sad recently when I was told that it was not the battery that caused my wristwatch to stop working but something "electronic".. (I didn't get the actual term)

But then, the shop girl being helpful said that I could try to send it for repair at town..and true enough, I did manage to do that...Alhamdulillah.

Why upset over this ordinary and simple looking watch...? It's not even my first watch after all...

Years ago it was my late father who advised me to buy a watch that cost a little bit more "expensive" (than what I budgeted) when I said I wanted to buy one from the first bonus I received from a new job. And he took me to one old shop in K.T and we chose it together.

Classic :-D

It remains my favourite and most of the time I wear it over the new ones that I've acquired or given over the years..

To repair it, I actually went to the same shop that sold me the watch and the watch repairer man said, he remembered selling the brand but its not in production anymore..hahaha...antic!

****************

When I'd just finished my studies, for few months I actually worked as a temporary teacher in my hometown(may be the "aura" is still with me as sometimes people would ask if I'd just come back from school / if I was one..hehe).

I didn't have any basics so every night then I'd "study" the subjects ~ both Malay and English languages (hard ones as I studied accountancy!), geography (luckily its for form 1's..hehe)..and I even got to handle some physical education classes (which saw me one day playing volleyball with the students in my red modern "baju kurung" ~I didn't change the dress but couldn't resist playing..haha..)

I appreciate the experiences (I wonder what happened to my students...especially the naughty ones, ones that were asked to stand outside the classroom when I couldn't managed them, and they pleaded to come in..haha..)

Anyway, even though the monthly pay was not much, my mother advised me to buy something to remember my teaching stint...

...and hence the ring :-)

The first jewellery item that I bought for myself, not that I have many now as I don't wear them much..my mother still reminds me sometimes when she sees me without earrings or bracelet or ring etc..hehe..

Alhamdulillah for their farsighted advises...
(and me for listening...hehe)

Been a while since I joined "Virtual Run" (VR), and with long MCO - Movement Control Order (and no interest from family members..h...
