Knowledge Centre

I was glad that I had the chance to be at the launching of a new learning centre for the Rohingya refugee kids recently.

As the organiser said :

"Before we leap, we start by taking small steps.

Today, we took a small step of officially launching the Muslim Aid Knowledge Centre in Ampang.

We are now ready to educate and nurture young Rohingya refugees in the area.

The next step is to look into establishing similar centres nationwide."

Sharing some photos of the kids there.

Was so touched when the girl in purple scarf asked if she could called me "Ummi"(mother).

But I felt guilty too as I may not be able to go and see her or the other kids due to time constraints and distance.

However wishing her and all of them the best in life.

Trying to keep up :-)

hahaha...its already the 20th day in January 2014 and this is only my second post!

Ok, that's one resolution that I'm trying to keep. Another one is to cut down on my travelling..guess I overdid last year that it took toll on my health.

Also I don't want my mum and family worry about me being away too much (unless the travelling is to go back to my hometown...hehe..)

But somehow this month alone I was tempted with offers to join 3 trips to 3 different locations!

1 ~ Jakarta-Bandung-Solo-Jogja in Indonesia

2 - Universal Studio in Singapore

3 - Mumbai, India.

wow...how I wish...hahaha..

So to avoid the temptations, I booked a last minute ticket to my hometown for a break last week, and "cure" my itchy travel feet...hehehe...

Sharing some photos taken last week :

By the way, its "Visit Terengganu" this year.

We seldom go out to eat as mum is not really into going out for meals, but when she said she wanted to go for hi-tea at this place, we made the effort to fulfill it.

This place @ Hotel Primula is the only hotel that she's comfortable with.

Some of the food that I managed to capture...my nephew took more   :-)

Ok that's the update on eating and food..hehe...

***************

We planned to hire some bikes and ride at Taman Tamadun Islam park near our home but the day (Tuesday) that we went, the park was closed (its open to public from Wednesday to Monday only from 9am to 6pm).

So that day to went for a walk instead ~ to panoramic hill near the city centre. It was our first time there and we had a nice walk...we should go again.

Another evening I played volleyball with my nieces....was quite surprised that they could play.

The next photos were taken whilst passing through the famous beach area in K.Terengganu, Pantai Batu Burok.

But yesterday evening I was already back in K.L. The following view was taken on ERL (train express) from KLIA to KL Sentral.

mmmm...back at work today.

Have a productive week everyone!

A fresh start.

Into the second day of year 2014 and not only saying "bye" to days in 2013, but also to the old work place.

November and December had been a different busy months..apart from welcoming family members from home, entertaining a good friend and her son from Kuching that I had not seen for many years followed by many reunions with our other friends, I had been busy with packing as our office moved to a different location.

Bye to the old work place.

Phew...it was hard work going through recent documents and also ones that were more than 10 years, my body ache all over and its not completely done though we had moved by year end. Luckily the new office is nearby (more importantly still near my home...hehehe...).

A new one still not set up when this was taken on 31.12.13.....hope for a better environment.

Have yet to finish unpacking, hope by next week could start work properly.

and wish I could go to a good spa for a bit of pampering. :-D.

Anyway, one of my aims for new year is to lose some (ehem..) weight, but so far I have failed...hahaha...,

Not all for me thou, bought these for a little celebration for a friend's birthday.

mmmmmm.....  :-D

Hope for a stronger will.....hehehe..

1.1.14 ~ New year and new school term started in some states and for my lovely nieces...wishing them a successful and great year.....,

..hope they'll enjoy their school days, especially to my youngest niece who is in standard 1 this year.

Hope everyone have had a great start.

mmmm....so many hopes...,

SSP : School Band and Wind Orchestra.

I'd always have fond memories and usually feel nostalgic whenever I see school band playing or marching...remembering own experiences with the rest of the band members, practising songs, marching in the hot sun, performing at events and competed in schools' competitions and I love it when we traveled on the bus in our yellow and blue uniforms, white boots, black caps, white gloves and all...

not forgetting, me and my dear friend completed the "set" with ponytails ..hehehe...

Anyway, in May I had the chance to go to the finale of Wind Orchestra among the boarding schools with some friends...all the 9 schools in the final were good, these 13 - 17 years old boys and girls really worked hard to reach this stage. I believe all of us were proud of them.

And I'm happy that my former school became the champion..yeay..yeay..

:-))))

and also "Best Conductor" for this girl...(clap clap clap)

Listening "live" at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) to these girls playing gave me goosebumps...

Here's the video/link from youtube (here) of them playing "Vesuvius" during the competition.

The girls are currently in Sydney Australia at the invitation of Australian International Music Festival(AIMF2013) for some performances and compete in the event between 7 -14th July 2013.

All the best to them..may they gain wonderful experiences there.

My calender and "Aliens in d house"

I'm not sure if my boss is nervous or irritated whenever he sees me holding my desk calender these days... :-D ...

Recently he "caught" me holding one and asked whether I was planning another holiday,

mmmm... luckily then I could say truthfully that I was checking something that was work related...(but I did point out that my next leave would be for Eid celebration in few weeks time....hehe.)

Not phobia with calender I hope... haha...

Anyway...last weekend I was in my hometown for a short break before the fasting month..and one of the activities that my nieces did was playing dough.

Enjoy them! :-D

I said its "Alien" in our hometown.. a sweet looking one  :-)

Slightly angry looking errr..."Upin"

A "lollipop" that started with many "keropok lekor"

Another invasion of Aliens..haha...

That were supposed to be the characters of Jarjit and Mei Mei of Upin Ipin series.. :-D

and ehem... the Upin & Ipin .. hehe..sorry.

I love them all...thank you to my nieces..Ain, Sya and Balqees.

And finally this yummy looking "doughnut" for "auntie meow's" birthday...hehehe...

I still couldn't stop grinning when I see these pictures again or when I thought about it...hahaha.

Have a great weekend!

Thinking of you : Balqees

Sometimes when I'm tired I'd think about happy things...and thinking of my younger nieces could always lower my stress level, make me forget my tiredness....,

and this was what I did earlier :-)

During last Eid celebration..in her "Najwa Latif's tudung style"

This was her "acting" like she didn't want her photo taken...hehe..

Photo sent by her mum a couple of years back.

Playing kite at the beach

During our trip to Kinabalu Park in December 2012..with her new "pet".

Being playful ~ "sulking"

Playing games at her mum's phone...such concentration...

Yup..., feeling better now.
