Another year, another round of bowling..

For the record...two Sundays in a row I played bowling, one representing our alumni and another one in our alumni's inter-batches tournament.

Mr.Google

Hahaha...in not playing for many months after last year's tournament, to suddenly throwing the balls in a "crash-course", took its toll on me after the first Sunday...and I was given a two-day medical leave, and my body aches all over!

Luckily I recovered in time to play for the second tournament. :-)

Representing our alumni was great even if we didn't win as we, players from different years had the chance to get to know each other, some better than before...a pleasure indeed.

..but a week later...we became "enemies" at the inter-batches!...and I had already *warned* them not to play good games....but of course they didn't listen, with one of them became the best bowler!..hahaha...

Mr. Google

However, we went one up...my batch team became the CHAMPION!...yeay yeay!!!..

...with our second team in 16th place out of 26th, a good result considering most players didn't practiced, some had not played for many years....another yeay!!

So now we plan to train early, at least once a month...but mmmm.., lets see the outcome...I think we said almost the same thing too last year...hahaha...

Anyway, few days ago, got a pleasant surprise...I was 6th best bowler! Wow..

One of my throws  :-)

On that happy note, wishing everyone a great week ahead..sorry for not having the time yet to read everyone's posts...will try soonest possible.

Ta-daaa...!

System down.

My personal health system that is.

I guess with all the tourist dos in KL, touring overseas, my back-and-forth trips back to my kampung K.Terengganu..on top of the trainings for both the 5-km fun run and bowling, my good health finally took its toll..(but just nice after the bowling tournament..hehe..)

Feeling much better on the viral fever thou my cough is slightly worse since this morning..have to make sure I control my food intake during break fast later..and to finish the cough syrup given last week..,

or may be I should just take pure honey before sleep tonight.

Anyway...on a happier note, was glad that the weekly trainings on bowling paid-off. Even thou I had "stage fright" when the actual tournament came (hahaha)...was elated that our team managed to be the 2nd runner up (Third from 21 teams..not bad eh?)

and I was placed 12th overall from 84 players! Even I was surprised..hehehe..

but lucky me, I didn't have to represent the Alumni in inter-Alumni as only the top 10 bowlers were chosen...huh..if I'd done better in my second game I'd be somewhere there...things happened for good reason ! :-D

Didn't take many pictures as I was nervous that day..and the few I'd taken didn't turn up well too..photographer mode was out...haha..

Most importantly thou, I had fun with my friends as usual.

But now I suppose its time to revert back to my normal slow and steady pace and relax (but I'm looking forward to the trip home for eid-ul-fitr with family...and trip with good friends after that!)

No haste.

I've been getting tips on how to play bowling ever since I started..but its only recently that I tried to "utilise" the tips..from the correct posture of my body, control of my hand when throwing the ball, position on the lane, etc etc....(but I still don't know how to walk properly or cross my legs nicely like those professionals, what more the slide at the end.....I just walk few small steps, bend a bit and throw..haha.)

This was definitely NOT me..hehe..

Anyway, the latest tip that I got was to take the time, "have patience" before throwing the ball....and so I tried that and scored 144  ~  well well...it worked. [for someone who last year was only able to score around 70s to 80s, that surely made me happy with all the tips :-D ]

But on the second game I was distracted by this cute little girl of about 4 or 5 years old, who was trying to learn how to throw the ball..kept on watching her that I lost my concentration....hehehe..

She didn't give up easily :-)

On the third game I was back on track and scored 131..,

...but nobody has to worry...last week my scores were on average of 80s..I tend to lose my nerves when I played with friends esp. the captain.. (excuses, excuses ~ grinning)

De-stress activity : bowling

Sent smses to some friends after lunch yesterday, telling them that I felt like going for a  bowling practice later in the evening,

...didn't expect them to join as it was a short notice, but I was glad that one friend said she could follow me if I could pick her up at her house. No problem as it was on the way to the bowling arena, and I appreciate her company.

Luckily the place was not packed and we could play immediately. As I had not played for many months since our celebratory game (we were 1st runner-up last year :-D here), was not expecting to do well...

and my friend and I just went into it without warming up first..hehe..

Surprisingly our scores were not bad, esp. for my friend who said earlier "just throw and wait for luck!"..hehe..

Strike on first throw, and a total of 118..not bad eh? .. hehe

AND I was so excited when on my second game I managed to score a total of 153!

Told my captain that it was "my luck on first training"

The highest score I think so far me..hehehe..,

that's ONE way to de-stress!

:-)))

[Text from the captain last night : "Keep up with the good score and training! We shall win this year again! (n her smiley)" ~ now I'm nervous..haha..]

Malaysia Cup Final 2011.

I think I know about some EPL (*) teams but I haven't really follow the local football scene all these while, except for this past few years when it reached the final stages, then only if my home State team got to the final..hehe..

But this year I was "dragged" into it sooner, 'Terengganu' and 'T-Team' were both in the semi-finals..and b'cos during the second-leg of it I was in K.T, with my family rooting for them, I could not ignore it though I didn't sit in front of the TV set,

..sadly the 'T-Team' couldn't make an all Tganu teams to the final...next time insyaAllah.

For tomorrow's final between Terengganu and N.Sembilan, I will not watch it either at the Shah Alam Stadium or the home "stadium" [ :-) ]. I'd be too nervous..haha.

My family in K.T is more enthusiastic. I received these picture messages this afternoon..

Where's Cheqna's t-shirt?

Anyway, all the best..hope the game will be played fairly, good and entertaining.

(From website)

..and hoping that both teams' supporters/fans will show strong sense of support and behave well.

Pleasant surprise..on first try.

After many years of being an ardent supporter, it was my turn to be in the team (hehe, actually I had to as my batch was short on player :-), the key player had to be out station )

Yes, I had to be in the team for our alumni's inter-batch bowling tournament.

The captain was aware that I'd be nervous so I was put as second player and I guess that helped a little.

First game was not bad, but second and third weren't good, I had much better scores during practices..so that by the end of the match, I felt guilty for playing! :-)

When the result was announced, third place went to a strong team whose key player won the best bowler..my friends and I looked at each other, most of us thought "there goes our chance"..so that when our team name was called, we thought the emcee was chiding us for being loud (hehe)..

It dawned on us few seconds later that we actually won second place, then we were making "thunderous" cheers, and not watching the winner (thou no surprise there).. :-) .

Pleasant surprise indeed!...especially when we found out later that our score difference with the 3rd team was only 2!

The practices paid off for us..it might not be perfect but it helped.

Next year? I've booked to play in SECOND team (if there's any)...can't stand the pressure, but I do enjoy the game..hehe..

Rugby Weekend @ Kuala Kangsar

It was a "MCKK Premier 7s 2011" rugby event..hehe...not the kind of game that I watch or know much about :-)

But as my nephew Nazeem  had decided to stay in school and support his school team, we decided to go there instead.

The video that I took on Sunday ~ testing the "new" handycam..the outcome was not good..moving all over..haha..

They won this game 15 - 12, eventually went into final but I was told that they lost...better luck next time boys!

*************

We went to Kuala Kangsar on Saturday, picked up Nazeem n friends, and drove down to Ipoh...,

and spoiler no 3 was :

That night we were invited by a friend of mine who was visiting her son for an "adventurous" dinner ~ drove to Kuala Sepetang for the famous "mee udang" (prawn noodles) ~ I actually didn't know that the area was well-known for that dish :)

Google image ~ Mine looked almost like this :

Spoiler no 4..oh oh, but Alhamdulillah for the treat, may Allah SWT bless my friend and her family.

Before we left for KL, we took Nazeem n some of his friends out for lunch at the pizza place..we were actually out-voted, wanted to have local lunch at one resort but they voted for pizza...haha..

(From left : Hazman, Faizul a.k.a Benjo, Nazeem and Hafeez)

Mine was seafood lasagna...mmmm...no 5!..hehehe...

(Memang lazat..hehehe..)

Leaving them behind after our lunch, I'm touched and thankful that

(1) Nazeem still hugged me in front of his friends...

and that,

(2) his friends are the polite lots...

hope they'll remain good friends till d end..

Like I'm blessed to have good friends...

Alhamdulillah.
