Renewal of passport

My passport had expired early February. Needed to renew it so I surfed the net before going to Immigration office at Wangsa Maju, KL as my previous one was done in Kuala Terengganu.

(google image)

Found out that I could get it done in less than two hours, really? But I'd better be an early bird..just in case.

So by 8.11am today (according to the parking ticket..hehe) the car was parked less than 50m away from the office. I needed to get my photos first ~ bit bz to have it taken before :)..it took just a few minutes ~ before we went next door.

Filled up the forms before we were given ticket numbers, mine showed 14 people ahead of me, waiting to be served..

its 8.35am then...and I saw that the waiting room was full.."oh no!".. I anticipated a long wait...

But to my surprise, I was called in about 15 minutes to hand over the documents to be processed and less than 20 minutes later, my number was called again to make the payment.

The next process took the "longest" ~ issuance of the new passport, and mine was issued about 45 minutes after payment was made.

(My old and new ones)

so I guess it's true about this logo I found :

(One hour after payment is made)

Thumbs up to the staffs of Immigration Office for the fast service...but what I like most was that they were friendly, from the 1st person that we met i.e the security man to the lady who handed over my new passport. "Service with a smile"..keep it up!

But I wonder...how do they stand hearing the fast number calling announcements all day long? I was there for less than 2 hours and was ready to bolt..hehehe..

Rugby Weekend @ Kuala Kangsar

It was a "MCKK Premier 7s 2011" rugby event..hehe...not the kind of game that I watch or know much about :-)

But as my nephew Nazeem  had decided to stay in school and support his school team, we decided to go there instead.

The video that I took on Sunday ~ testing the "new" handycam..the outcome was not good..moving all over..haha..

They won this game 15 - 12, eventually went into final but I was told that they lost...better luck next time boys!

*************

We went to Kuala Kangsar on Saturday, picked up Nazeem n friends, and drove down to Ipoh...,

and spoiler no 3 was :

That night we were invited by a friend of mine who was visiting her son for an "adventurous" dinner ~ drove to Kuala Sepetang for the famous "mee udang" (prawn noodles) ~ I actually didn't know that the area was well-known for that dish :)

Google image ~ Mine looked almost like this :

Spoiler no 4..oh oh, but Alhamdulillah for the treat, may Allah SWT bless my friend and her family.

Before we left for KL, we took Nazeem n some of his friends out for lunch at the pizza place..we were actually out-voted, wanted to have local lunch at one resort but they voted for pizza...haha..

(From left : Hazman, Faizul a.k.a Benjo, Nazeem and Hafeez)

Mine was seafood lasagna...mmmm...no 5!..hehehe...

(Memang lazat..hehehe..)

Leaving them behind after our lunch, I'm touched and thankful that

(1) Nazeem still hugged me in front of his friends...

and that,

(2) his friends are the polite lots...

hope they'll remain good friends till d end..

Like I'm blessed to have good friends...

Alhamdulillah.

Spoilers : Cakes and chocolates

ONE :

It was Saf's birthday yesterday ~ all d best wishes and may u always be blessed by Allah SWT, amiin.

When Mas knew about that, she bought few slices of yummy cakes for a mini celebration - at the bowling arena..hehe..

and I bought the coffee..I love it!

Felt guilty when I'd just started my so-called "diet" (haha..)

But my friends and I came to the conclusion that the spoonful(s) of cakes I ate led me to score 135 with 3 strikes in a row!..hehe..

So for the tournament someone should bring some cakes for me (hint! hint!)

**************

TWO :

A weekend away : visiting Nazeem...If normally I made cakes or biscuits for him, this time decided to make chocolates..

Filled with nutella and hazelnuts.

Strawberry flavoured.

Rice krispies bars (again..)

Packed away for him.. :-)

Clearing the dust..

Came back from the office yesterday with a strong will to start again..dusting the long forgotten exercise bicycle and rode for almost one hour while watching tv..hehe

Burned only about 300 calories..mmm..I read that in order to lose 1lbs I need to burn 3500 cals!..oohhh..another 3200 cals to go..

hehehe..

I have to start somewhere, right?

(but my knees hurt at the moment)

5 tips for exercises - both aerobic and strength training.

Tip #1: Squats:

Every day in front of the mirror, put your feet at shoulder width while facing forward and squat down-and-up 10-20 times for 2 or 3 sets.

(Image : google)

Tip #2: Push-ups:

Do 2 or 3 sets of 20 push-ups to build arm strength and increase your RMR.

Tip #3: Jumping jacks:

Do 4 or 5 sets of 20 jumping jacks, or as needed.

(Image : google)

Tip #4: Fast walking:

Fast walking is even better for burning fat. Once you start your faster walking pace, try to maintain as much speed as possible for as long as you can.

(Image : google)

Tip #5: Stepping:

Stepping is a great way to get your heart beating and to burn calories. Do 2 to 3 sets of 20 steps each to begin.

(Dusting this one as well..hehe)

Most importantly, I need to "Motivate Myself" ~ will try to find an incentive for getting in shape and burning fat.

Good Luck to me!

Unexpected gifts

It had been awhile since I last bought/read humour magazine "Gila-Gila"..but the cover of this month's edition caught my eyes the other day :

I thot it was quite funny the way the girl in purple baju kurung was posing, and what she said..:-)..

(check out that two grinning customers..wanted to join them too..hehe)

This topic arose at the time when it was quite difficult to get supplies of cooking oil,

..but I guess by now the guy is happy that she'd accepted his proposal (with all the gifts, minus the oils..hehehe..)

[ note : I've yet to read the mag.. :-) ]

Talk about gifts, last Monday I was pleasantly surprised when I got a lovely material from a former office mate who has been like an older sister since I first knew her..

She said the soft colour suited me and asked me to make a "Kebaya" dress style out of this material as she'd like to see me in one, but I said I prefer Baju Kurung as it will last longer...[tqvm but sorry ye sis!]

And later on in the evening whilst practising bowling with my friends, each one of us got a rose..

..may not be the real one but nice.. tq. :-)

Lovely gestures..made my day.
(even thou I played bowling badly that evening..hehe..)

Over the weekend.

Girlfriends' weekend.

Saturday : planned to go and see Rois and Nieza at Rois's place before they left for Umrah on Sunday. Instead, she invited me to have breakfast with them and Ayu, who's on transit from Bali (after her diving trip) to Kuantan.

(Nudibranch ~ photo from one of her diving trips)

So met them at nasi lemak stall in Kampung Baru (antarabangsa? not sure, it was my first time there..hehe)

Had a lovely hour before Ayu had to leave for her journey..

(and we went shopping at Jalan T.A.R)

The breakfast ~ Ayu's treat. TQ :-)

By now, I hope Rois and Nieza have reached Madinah safely, staying for a few days before going to Makkah..praying for a wonderful spiritual journey for them...amiin.

Sunday : Roha had "booked" :-) my Sunday lunch hour since last week as she'd coming down from Kedah for the weekend. I haven't see her for more than a year so I'd surely make the time.

She had arranged with another friend, Chom as well so we went for lunch at Middle Eastern restaurant at Jalan Ampang.

Lunch : Chom's treat...TQ

1)..so very nice of him. Hope all of us will continue to help each other out, doesn't matter what the race or gender.

2) Should always have my GPS..hehe

3) Good to use outstation car plate number when in KL / Selangor..(esp. for someone like me..haha)
