Orange Day

A year ago on the 30th April, I was still in the Netherlands..the day that the Dutch celebrated their "Queen's Day" (it was actually the birth date of the former Queen but for a reason, maintained by the current Queen.)

And the "Orange"?

"Orange is the color of the Dutch Royal Family. The lineage of the current dynasty -- the House of Oranje-Nassau -- dates back to Willem van Oranje (William of Orange). But while the color orange has royal roots in the Netherlands, today it symbolizes a broader pride in the country and in being Dutch."

As my friend had told us earlier about this, we brought an "orangish" dress/headscarf just to join in the fun. But my friend came up with this :

:-)

Our hosts took us out to feel the "Queen's Day" atmosphere :

Interesting day, but we were not lucky to be in the town the Queen visited.

After previous posts, I have to say here that I don't work for Netherlands' tourism...hehehehe..

Happy Queen's Day (Koninginnedag) to all Dutch people wherever you are.

Sea sport activity

I'd finished packing my things and decided to snap few views before our departure.

My friend who was with me at the balcony remarked, "you are just like a paparazzi" ....just because of the continuous clicking sound of the pictures taken.

I said to her that I didn't know why.."I'd set my setting to auto....auto detect of the movements?"....(coincidentally I was shooting the boating activities.)

HAHAHAHA....We really had a good laugh when I realised that I'd unknowingly set the camera setting to "multiple shots"!

Auto-detect indeed!!!..hehehehe...

From the balcony...

Still on the weekend of our reunion, with two other friends we watched the sun set that night...if previously I posted the photos taken from my android tablets (here), this time tried out a different setting of my camera.

The balcony had a direct view of the sunset, so lovely..

Exchanged of gifts.

For this reunion, we had stick to our tradition of exchanging gifts..simple ones..and this time the committees decided the values between RM20 to RM30 should be okay enough.

Didn't have time to do the shopping as it was a short notice..but this was what I bought.

We each drew the names out of a bag...and hope the friend who got my gift like mine :

I received this in return, a lovely Kashmir shawl that my friend bought whilst she was in Saudi Arabia last year.

She happened to be my room mate during this reunion...hehehe

And as usual, we got door gifts too :-)

"Telekung", a mug, lipstick and a plaque

The words written on the plaque :

Friend

Friend I still remember
Pranks planned and
played together

Challenges met and
overcome together

Friend I still remember
Secrets shared and kept
promises fulfilled, hopes instilled
and dreams fondly built

Our friendship is forever.

Dinner on Saturday.

We went out that night to have dinner at a place that was recommended by a committee member. It was an ala carte dinner, and we were asked to order within a certain budget limit..hehe..

The food court was by the beach front, and with the nice breezy night, most of us ordered this coconut drink :

Delicious.

We didn't have to wait long for our drinks (Ithink!), but after that it was a while before my friend got this..and she proceeded to have it whilst it still "hot"...

Not sure if that was steak or what :-)

And the rest of us waited..and waited...and waited...

Then ours came, more than half our later which we considered "lucky" as another friend had to wait for hers that arrived almost half an hour later I believe, by which time we had almost finished ours...A bad service considering there were not many customers there..mmm..

Anyway, my friend and I decided to combine our orders, so we chose 3 :

Grilled Salmon

Broccoli with mushroom

...we had eaten more than half of the above two when the third order came,

fried rice with satay, chicken and egg..

I had not been feeling well since we came out..and the delay in dinner caused my headache to be more..Didin't feel like eating anymore..Alhamdulillah some other friends shared that..

I wasn't in the mood then to capture the food ordered by the rest except those near me :-)

My friends were not aware of my condition during dinner but once they knew, were so thoughtful and nice...Even though it was almost 11pm, I was guilty that they cut short our time out.

Thank you very much dearest friends!

Been a while since I joined "Virtual Run" (VR), and with long MCO - Movement Control Order (and no interest from family members..h...
