Looks like you will need a camera bag now
but i think you can leave the 18~55 at home unless you're taking some closeup.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your friends and have great success with your new lens. You could probably get along without the other lens, but I always take all of my lenses with me when I travel. But I have a camera bag which makes it a little easier.
Hi There, We always take our camera bags --and all of our lenses with us... It's nice to have the long lens --but I use the other one more... You'll need both.

I used only the new lens as this was a short weekend. It was great trying the longer zoom lens during our outside activities.
Will take both when I go for my next trip which is coming soon.
and thank you, I did have a great time, it was hard to say goodbye and be among the first to leave..hehe..
