Weekend treats

Saturday nights in school we used to have "open air" wayang time, tak ingat pulak samada tiap-tiap minggu or not, but a must for everyone. Normally we had it outside the school hall, with my gang's favourite place kat pintu dewan...awal-awal lagi dah booking

Those were the days when we all would spread out the tikar or suratkhabar lama, bawak bekal makan n minum...for me mesti bawak "bantal busuk" - senang if nak baring and tidur, he he he..

One of the movies that we watched then was Grease, hahaha...kelakar pulak bila tengok semula john travolta, olivia pulak so sweet..

Grease Lightning

Hopelessly Devoted To You

We go together

I wonder if juniors in school masih ada this "treat", but nowdays nak tengok movies kat tv aje, pilih channel tapi dah tak tahu apa yang latest, banyak sangat.

Watched on Oprah tonight, about this "Geography Whiz" kid - cute girl.

This video was taken when she was 23-months old back in early 2007. I could learn something from here..he he he..

Watch out for minute 5.48. :-)

and another video of her, singing birthday song when she turned 2.

Tips

Since raya month, tak boleh nak control diet, sedap je semua makanan....and only after 3 weeks beraya, bila balik kampung again at the end of Syawal mak said, "bulat sikit balik kali ni.". Now after a couple of months, bertambah2 lagi lah "chomel"nya..hehehe...

Tips for weight loss success :

a) Pick up produce - have at least one fruit and veggie at every meal. Fruits and veggies are high in fiber, which staves off hunger. Shoot for nine servings daily. It sounds like a lot, but if you don't have to be a rabbit to reach that goal. Eat a salad at lunch or dinner, and you're there.

b) Snack smart - add protein (such as a stick of lowfat string cheese or Parmesan) to your between-meal bites. Research suggests protein may enhance the effect of leptin, a hormone that reins in appetite. Protein is also filling and can help curb cravings for chips, cookies and the like.

c) Sip more water - dieters who swapped sugary drinks for water lose weight, but those who gulped the most H20 peeled off the most pounds, according to a study at the meeting of Obesity Society in Boston. Don’t love agua? Try the flavored kind but check the label for sugar content (it should be below 8 grams per serving).

d) Eat every meal - when you wait longer than five hours between bites, your body may release extra cortisol, a hormone that can increase appetite.

Flat-stomach secret:

A banana a day - eat it in the morning with cereal, as a postworkout snack, or in a smoothie, and it will cure those puffy, fat-feeling days -tight pants, rounder belly and feel a little swollen? One banana delivers 422 milligrams of potassium, which helps limit the amount of gut-bloating sodium in your body.

Uncover glowing skin:

Wash your face for a full 30 to 60 seconds - the time it takes cleansing agents to loosen dirt, oil and makeup.

At-home tip: Soak a washcloth in whole milk and drape it over your face. The fat in the milk soothes skin while its lactic acid gently exfoliates.

Halifax, West Yorkshire

Karma Chameleon by Culture Club was a hit when i was in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Once when Uyun n I were walking along main road to town, she suddenly sang "I'm a man"..and orang dalam kereta turned to look at her..hahaa..

I think this video was taken during bbc's "top of the pop"...alahai "sweet"nya boy george..he he he..

I may not be able to recall most events there, but I remember some wonderful times and with many Malaysian students it was not that bad being that far away from family at home. Weekdays we had our classes - Percival Whiteley College (?)...- once we celebrated hari raya aidil fitri kat exam hall!

During first year, weekends either stayed at home @ Clapton Avenue (both Kak Soraya - who wrote to me before i left for U.K - and Kak Salmah, who kindly looked after us from the beginning), or angkut bantal dengan Uyun pergi bermalam rumah Kak Sal and Kak Roha (nak tengok TV, hehehe....and buat abc dengan snow during winter..haha) or ke rumah Kak Julie and Kak Uji for makan-makan...

Best pulak teringat zaman2 angkut baju nak basuh kat laundry, lepak at Uyun's room kat attic, jalan2 kat small town and discovering lovely views of it's hillsides, visit Cadbury chocolate factory in York, makan kat indian restaurant (with its "very hot" curry, yang rupanya letak cili potong..haha)... and fish and chips with salt n vinegar!

hmm...mana agaknya pergi some of the gang and seniors kat sana...n i wonder if mr Edwards n "mak cik Belgium" Mackie still ada situ..

I could not find familiar places when looking at the website http://www.halifaxuk.co.uk/ ...i need gingko! :-)

Thriller

Read in today's paper that Michael Jackson dah revert to Islam, using nama "Mikaeel" ...., alhamdulillah if its true...

Don't want to touch on his highly publicised personal life, just want to re-watch his big hit, Thriller - this is a full version of the video...(the Michael as he was then ..hehehe) :-)

"I've been in the entertainment industry since I was six-years-old...As Charles Dickens says, "It's been the best of times, the worst of times." But I would not change my career...While some have made deliberate attempts to hurt me, I take it in stride because I have a loving family, a strong faith and wonderful friends and fans who have, and continue, to support me."—Michael Jackson.

..hope he finds inner peace as a muslim..
