Kid’s Guide to buying smart

A little kid was looking at the large ripe watermelons growing in the gardener's melon patch. "I'll give you my twenty five cents for that watermelon," said the boy pointing to a beautiful, large, ripe fruit in the middle of the patch.

"No," said the gardener, "I get $2 for a Watermelon like that one." The little boy pointed to a tiny watermelon just beginning to grow on a nearby, "Will you take twenty five cents for that one?"

"Sure," replied the gardener, "I'll give you that one for twenty five cents."

"OK," said the little kid, sealing the deal by putting the coin in the gardener's hand, "I'll pick it up in about two weeks."

Watermelon ~ sweet, tasty summertime fruit, made of sugar and water.

Vitamin A found in watermelon is important for optimal eye health, can help prevent night-blindness, and boosts immunity by enhancing the infection-fighting actions of white blood cells called lymphocytes.

Vitamin B6 found in watermelon is used by the body to manufacture brain chemicals (neurotransmitters), such as serotonin, melatonin and dopamine, which preliminary research shows may help the body cope with anxiety and panic.

Vitamin C in watermelon can help to bolster the immune system's defenses against infections and viruses and can protect a body from harmful free radicals that can accelerate aging and conditions such as cataracts.

Recently research has shed new light on its potential health benefits. Watermelon contains high concentrations of lycopene, an antioxidant that may help reduce the risks of cancer and other diseases.

May be.

Another beautiful one
from my mail box:
*********************

Maybe. . we were supposed to meet the
wrong people before meeting the right
one so that, when we finally meet the
right person, we will know how to be
grateful for that gift.

Maybe . . . it is true that we don't
know what we have until we lose it,
but it is also true that we don't know
what we have been missing until it
arrives.

Maybe . . . the brightest future will
always be based on a forgotten past;
after all, you can't go on
successfully in life until you let go
of your past mistakes, failures and
heartaches.

Maybe . . you should hope for enough
happiness to make you sweet, enough
trials to make you strong, enough
sorrow to keep you human, and enough
hope to make you happy.

Maybe . . . the happiest of people
don't necessarily have the best of
everything; they just make the most of
everything that comes along their way.

Maybe .. . . the best kind of friend is
the kind you can sit on a porch and
swing with, never say a word, and then
walk away feeling like it was the best
conversation you've ever had.

Maybe . . . happiness waits for all
those who cry, all those who hurt, all
those who have searched, and all those
who have tried, for only they can
appreciate the importance of all the
people who have touched their lives.

May be . . you should do something nice
for someone every single day, even if
it is simply to leave them alone.

Maybe . . . there are moments in life
when you miss someone -- a parent, a
spouse, a friend, a child -- so much
that you just want to pick them from
your dreams and hug them for real, so
that once they are around you
appreciate them more.

Maybe … giving someone all your love
is never an assurance that they will
love you back. Don't expect love in
return; just wait for it to grow in
their heart; but, if it doesn't, be
content that it grew in yours.

Maybe .. . . you should dream what you
want to dream; go where you want to
go, be what you want to be, because
you have only one life and one chance
to do all the things you dream of, and
want to do.

"Life is only travelled ONCE;

Today’s MOMENT becomes Tomorrow’s MEMORY.
Enjoy every moment, good or bad, because the GIFT of LIFE is LIFE itself…."

Balanced diet...

In another "attempt" to be on diet :-),
last nite's dinner was a "balanced" menu
~ cooked veggie soup and crab salad,
and ended with pineapple juice.

let's see d recipe...

put cauliflower, carrot and celery,
with this and that in a pot of water,
cooked till a bit tender,
add pepper and salt to taste...

then placed fried crabs on top of lettuce
~ and here's a different kind of "crab salad"..
hehehe

balanced? welllll...
one menu helped in the diet,
the other one simply counter it...

so, a simple equation really
and i didnt really feel guilty
with the fried crab so yummy...

:-)))

Dim sum

Had a dim sum "makan-makan" session with d gang on saturday..it was a good turnout - 10 of us - as usual it was fun - eating, story telling, laughing, eating,

.....bit of a rest by watching video of

their recent Mataking trip (lovely place!) -

back to eating again... O O...so much more to go...

..that by the end of it 'YB' scolded her 'PA' for ordering too much (hehehe..)

and at the same time "taught" us how to go through finishing this ... hahahaa..

we had a whale of a time, just hope i didnt look like a whale by the end of it!..hahahaa..

Thank you gals for d good time!

A GIFT...

*************************************

A SMILE FOR YOU...

SMILING IS INFECTIOUS,
YOU CATCH IT LIKE A FLU,
WHEN SOMEONE SMILED AT ME TODAY,
I STARTED SMILING TOO.

I PASSED AROUND THE CORNER,
AND SOMEONE SAW MY GRIN,
WHEN HE SMILED I REALISED,
I'D PASSED IT ON TO HIM.

I THOUGHT ABOUT THAT SMILE,
THEN I REALISED ITS WORTH,
A SINGLE SMILE, JUST LIKE MINE,
COULD TRAVEL AROUND THE EARTH.

SO, IF YOU FEEL A SMILE BEGIN,
DON'T LEAVE IT UNDETECTED,
LET'S START AN EPIDEMIC QUICK,
AND GET THE WORLD INFECTED!

KEEP THE SMILE GOING!

Mummy's boy robber

NEWS

An armed robber rang his mum on his mobile phone
when he found himself cornered by police during a raid.

The man, 26, was trying to rob an electronics shop in Sao Paulo, Brazil,
when police arrived, Agora newspaper reports.

He then threatened the hostages
and said that he would not do anything
until he had spoken to his mother.

The robber, who had four accomplices, called his mother
and after speaking to her, agreed to release the hostages.

A police spokesman said: "I never saw anything like this before,
he was the classic case of a mama's boy until the end.

"He followed everything she advised and all went well."

Be careful of what you plant

If you plant honesty, you will reap trust.
If you plant goodness, you will reap friends.

If you plant humility, you will reap greatness.
If you plant perseverance, you will reap victory.

If you plant consideration, you will reap harmony.
If you plant hard work, you will reap success.

If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation.
If you plant openness, you will reap intimacy.

If you plant patience, you will reap improvements.
If you plant faith, you will reap miracles.

But

If you plant dishonesty, you will reap distrust.
If you plant selfishness, you will reap loneliness.

If you plant pride, you will reap destruction.
If you plant envy, you will reap trouble.

If you plant laziness, you will reap stagnation.
If you plant bitterness, you will reap isolation.

If you plant greed, you will reap loss.
If you plant gossip, you will reap enemies.

If you plant worries, you will reap wrinkles.
If you plant sin, you will reap guilt.

****************************

So be careful of what you plant now,
it will determine what you will reap tomorrow.
